Description of DiskAccess:
DiskAccess for Terminal Services is SSC's NFS Client solution for the Windows Terminal Server environment. It has been built on the code-base of our award-winning DiskAccess NFS Client software, allowing you to integrate thin clients via Windows systems into multi-vendor networks for access to NFS-based file and print resources on UNIX and mainframe hosts. With DiskAccess, you can connect to resources with drag-and-drop ease and manage file permissions from within Windows property sheets. Using Windows Explorer, or Network Neighborhood you can browse and connect to file systems and printers located on any NFS systems. You can also browse NFS resources without committing a drive letter, accessing network file systems only when you need them. Or you have the option of establishing a full-time link to your server. Browsed connections are mounted and unmounted automatically, and shortcuts to frequently accessed NFS folders or files can be added to the desktop. This approach makes accessing resources easier, reduces NFS server load, and improves overall network performance. Users on each thin client maintain a separate workspace, eliminating the possibility of a user getting access to another users resources, making security simpler to manage. The DATS product is sold with a concurrent user license that lowers the total cost of ownership and simplifies Administration by centralizing Administration tasks to a single server. DiskAccess Terminal Services is also available in 10, 20, 50 and 100 user licenses.
